Emergency First Aid

This past week I took a 4 credit Emergency First Aid class. It was Monday through Saturday from 8:00 to 5:00. It was a lot of fun and I am grateful to know the things I learned. The most important information was CPR training and knowing exactly (for the most part) what to do and how to handle an emergency until an ambulance arrives. My last assignment is to turn in a First Aid kit loaded with all of the essentials. What would you recommend as a "must" in a first aid kit, or something that you have found handy for yours?

One thing that might be harder to find but that is really good is the cpr mouth guards. That way you can do the mouth to mouth stuff without worrying about the bacterias.

that is the best idea, because I don't want throw-up in my mouth. We were required to get them for the class and we just bought them from the teacher. You usually have to go to a medical supply store to find them.

please have some band-aids! They always make me feel better!
And, that hat on the mani is definitely a must for a first aid kit in my opinion! Just look at it... so stunning!

Hey Serena...how are you? I've looked at your blog a lot, but I don't know if I've ever left a comment on it! Silly me! One thing I keep in my car as far as first aid are bandaids that already have the antibiotic on them...that way you save yourself a step and don't have to get out any messy antibiotics.

This is kinda embarrassing to write on a semi-public-blog-comment-leaver, but I learned back in probably junior high, and I've always remembered it, but Kotex are great for putting on badly bleeding wounds (as long as it's not like your whole head I guess) but they are basically super-bandages. Do you ever remember learning that or am I crazy? I think it was Joann Braun that taught us that... I have to admit, I don't have any in my car, but maybe I'll update my vehicle's first aid kit. You're awesome!
